On 16th June 2009, The board of China Windpower announces that with effect from this day, Mr. Yu Weizhou("Mr. Yu") has appointed as an executive director of the company and Dr. Zhou Dadi ("Dr. Zhou") has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of the company.
Mr. Yu, aged 43, is currently the vice president of the company. Mr. Yu holds the Ph.D degree of Engineering of China Shenhua-Guohua Energu Investment Ltd., the Director of Market Management Department of State Power Management Commission and the Vice Director of Power Planning & Investment Department of State Economic & Trade Commission. Mr. Yu has engaged in the management works in the electric power industry for a long period and has extensive experience in the development and management of electric power projects.
Dr. Zhou, aged 62, graduated from the Engineering Physics Department of Tsinghua University in 1970 and obtained a master degree in Environmental Engineering in 1982. He received an honorary doctoral degree from the Geneva School of Diplomacy and International Relations in Switzerland in 2007. Dr. Zhou was the former Director-General of the Energy Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission and currently serves as a researcher of the institute.
Dr. Zhou has been engaged in the research on energy development strategies and energy policies for years. He is renowned both nationally and internationally in the fields of energy development strategies, sustainable energy development and deceleration of global climate change. Dr Zhou has served as the expert consultant of carious international organizations such as World Bank, Asian Development Bank, United Nations Environment Programme and United Nations Development Programme. He was the lead author of the Second and third Assessment Reports and the convening lead author of the Fourth Assessment Report of the intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) of the United Nations. He received the OECD Climate Technology Initiative Climate Technology Leadership Award in 2000 and 2007.
Dr. Zhou has spoken ate the seminars of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee on national and international energy resource issues, and at the seminars of the Standing Committees of the National People's Congress on energy conservation.
Dr. Zhou is the editor-in-chief of various publications such as China's Sustainable Energy Scenarios in 2020; Medium and Long term Energy Strategy for China, Research on Oil Strategy in China and Energy Development Strategy for China's Quadrupled Economy in 2020.
Currently, Dr. Zhou serves as the Deputy Director of National Energy Expert Consultative Committee, Specialist of Expert Group on Climate Change of China, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of China Energy Research Society, Vice Chairman of China Geographic Energy Strategy Research Society, Member of China Council for International Cooperation on Environmental Development, Consultant in Building Energy Conservation of Ministry of Construction and Senior Researcher of US Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
